Who you're calling
One owner, start to finish
Jeffrey runs Fort Worth HVAC himself. He answers the call, diagnoses the problem, writes the quote and does the work, so nothing gets lost between a call center, a salesman and a tech.
- Price before work. You approve the number before anything gets fixed.
- Sized for your house. New systems are sized from a load calculation, not copied off the old unit.
- Straight answers. If a repair makes more sense than a new system, he'll tell you.

Tune-ups only
Just want your system serviced twice a year? Pay per visit or prepay for spring and fall. No card on file and no commitment. Standard service call pricing applies to repairs.
Essential covers both tune-ups for $156 a year and adds $50 off service calls and 15% off repairs.
How billing works
Your card is billed at the start of each quarter, or once a year if you choose yearly billing. Tune-ups are scheduled for you; Jeffrey reaches out when it's time.
The fine print, in plain English
12-month commitment, then month to month. Discounts apply to labor and parts on repairs, not new equipment. Systems must pass a first tune-up to enroll; if yours needs a repair first, you'll get your member pricing on it.

What will my visit cost?
Repairs are quoted after diagnosis. You decide before any work begins.

How big of a unit do I need?
A starting estimate for North Texas homes. Your final size comes from a free Manual J load calculation at your consultation, because oversized units short-cycle and leave the house clammy.
Brands
Brands we install & service
We work on every major brand. For new installs, Jeffrey will recommend what fits your house and budget, and he'll tell you honestly when a repair makes more sense than a replacement.
Infinity and Performance lines. Quiet variable-speed options and strong warranties.
Built heavy for Texas heat. XR and XV series are some of the most common units we see.
High-efficiency Signature and Elite series with smart thermostat pairing.
Trane's sister brand. Same engineering, often a better price.
Dependable mid-range systems with easy-to-find parts.
Strong warranties and great inverter heat pumps and ductless minisplits.
Carrier-built with a lower price tag. Evolution and Preferred lines.
Budget-friendly, widely used in rentals and new construction, with good warranties when registered.
For garages, additions, shops and that one room upstairs that's always hot.
What SEER2 means
SEER2 is the efficiency rating. Higher numbers cost more upfront and less every month. In North Texas, stepping up from the minimum usually pays back over the life of the unit.
Single, two-stage, variable
Single-stage runs full blast or off. Two-stage and variable-speed run longer at lower speeds, pull more humidity out and even out upstairs temperatures.
R-410A to new refrigerants
New systems now use lower-impact refrigerants such as R-454B and R-32. Older R-22 and R-410A systems can still be serviced; ask what makes sense for yours.
Before you call
Check these first
These five things cause a lot of service calls. Try them, and if the system still isn't working, book a visit.
1. Thermostat
Make sure it's set to Cool or Heat (not Off), the set temperature is below or above the room temperature, and the batteries aren't dead. A blank screen usually means batteries or a tripped breaker.
2. Breakers & disconnect
Check the breaker panel for a tripped AC or furnace breaker and the disconnect box next to the outdoor unit. Reset a tripped breaker once. If it trips again, stop and call.
3. Air filter
A clogged filter can freeze the coil and shut the system down. Replace it. If ice is on the lines, turn cooling off and run the fan only for 2–3 hours before trying again.
4. Drain line & float switch
Many systems shut off when the condensate pan fills up. Check for water in the pan near the indoor unit or a dripping pipe outside. A clear drain line often brings it back.
5. Furnace door & switch
Furnaces won't run if the front panel isn't seated or the service switch (looks like a light switch) is off. Push the panel firmly closed and check the switch.
Call right away if
- You smell gas or burning
- A carbon monoxide alarm goes off (leave the house first)
- The outdoor unit is humming but the fan isn't spinning
- The breaker trips again after a reset

FAQ
Questions we hear a lot
Service calls
What does the $195 service call include?
The trip to your home or business and a full diagnosis of the problem. You'll get a price for the repair before any work starts, and you can say no.
Do you charge extra for same-day, nights or weekends?
A little. Same-day rush is +$50, after-hours (weekdays after 6 pm and weekends) is +$75, and holidays are +$100. Only one applies per visit, and Comfort Club members get some or all of them waived. See Pricing.
How fast can you get here?
Most calls are seen the same or next business day. Plan members go to the front of the line in summer and winter rush.
What payment do you take?
Cash, check and all major cards. Ask about financing options for new systems.
Repair or replace
Should I repair or replace my AC?
A good rule: multiply the unit's age by the repair cost. If that's over $5,000, or the system is 12–15+ years old and needs a major part like a compressor, replacement is usually the better money. Jeffrey will give you both numbers.
How long do AC systems last in Texas?
Usually 12–15 years for AC and heat pumps, and 15–20 for gas furnaces. Regular tune-ups are the biggest factor in getting to the long end of that.
My system uses R-22. Is that a problem?
R-22 hasn't been made in the U.S. since 2020, so recharging it is expensive. If an R-22 system has a leak, replacement is usually smarter than repeated refills.
How much does a new system cost?
It depends on size, efficiency and ductwork. We give free in-home consultations with written good / better / best options so you can compare. Book one here.
Maintenance plans
Is a maintenance plan worth it?
If you'd get one service call in a year, Essential already pays for itself on the $50 discount plus two tune-ups. Most manufacturers also require yearly maintenance to keep the warranty valid.
Can I just pay for tune-ups without a plan?
Yes. Tune-ups are $99 per system, or $179 for both spring and fall when you prepay. No subscription and no card on file. You'll pay standard pricing on any service calls or repairs.
Can I cancel?
Plans run 12 months, then continue month to month. You can cancel anytime after the first year.
I have two systems. How does pricing work?
Each additional system is +$20 a quarter on any residential plan.
Comfort tips
How often should I change my filter?
Every 1–3 months for standard 1" filters. More often with pets, construction dust or in peak summer. 4–5" media filters last 6–12 months.
Why is my upstairs so much hotter?
Heat rises, attics bake, and many two-story homes have one system or undersized returns upstairs. Fixes range from balancing dampers and an extra return to a second system or zoning.
What temperature should I set in summer?
78° when you're home and a few degrees higher when you're away is a good balance. A properly sized system should hold about 20° below the outdoor temperature on the hottest days.
